Each year we handle over thirty cases, most of which reside within the Tax Tribunals, but we have also advised within the courts on judicial review as well as on expert witness work.

Steve Botham who is a Chartered Tax Adviser heads the team and Jane Deeks, a lawyer by qualification, is our litigation manager.

At BNB we know that an appearance within the tax courts is not something to be found on any taxpayer’s Christmas list, most taxpayers, and indeed their advisers, approach taking on HMRC within the courts with varying degrees of trepidation. 

We know our way around the procedures, provide the taxpayer with an honest assessment of the chances of success within the courts, how long it will take, how much it will cost and, importantly, whether any of the costs are likely to be recoverable whether through an award by the courts or through other means. 

Most importantly, we provide the taxpayer and the regular adviser with tangible personal support throughout the process.
